Trupa Subversive (Portugalia) lanseaza Alethea – piesa lor de debut

Trupa Subversive s-a nascut din nevoia pentru creatie dintre Miguel Mateus și Miguel Branco, creând embrionul temelor pentru un album.
După ce au înregistrat cea mai mare parte a melodiilor, l-au invitat pe David Pais să se alăture creării liniilor vocale și a versurilor, urmand ca după aceea Xinês sa se alăture pe segmentul de percutie.
Rezultatul acestei lucrări, inspirat de mai multe șiruri filozofice și curente de gândire, i s-a dat numele de „Dissonance”.
Rezultatul final a fost apoi mixat si masterizat de catre Daniel Cardoso (Ultrasound Studios), iar lansarea este programată pentru vara anului 2020.
Debutul live al acestui nou proiect este deja programat pentru 7 iunie, în cadrul celebrului Comendatio Music Fest, din Paço da Comenda (Tomar).

Primul single de pe albumul “Dissonance” se numește “Alethea” și tocmai a fost lansat.

• Tema „Alethea” este prezentă în restul albumului sau este un concept exclusiv pentru acest single?

Această temă face parte dintr-o linie de gândire care parcurge întregul album, în care ne-am inspirat din unele mituri grecești și le-am recreat ca personaje într-un mod metaforic, într-o transpunere până în zilele noastre.
În acest caz particular, „Alethea” este reprezentarea adevărului și a realității așa cum o cunoaștem, simultan. Ca ființe umane, avem darul raționalității și al gândirii, care ne pot conduce atât spre binele, cât și spre cel mai rău dintre rele. Ca specie conștientă de sine, căutăm justificări pentru realitatea noastră în toate modurile posibile, fie prin teologie, știință, spiritualism și alte curente ale gândirii. De-a lungul albumului, am explorat caracteristicile miturilor și zeilor greci nu numai într-un mod metaforic, ci și într-un mod aproape analitic, cu scopul de a ne face să gândim în timp ce putem sau nu ne putem identifica cu unele dintre aceste personaje.

• Din punct de vedere muzical, și pe baza a ceea ce am auzit de la „Alethea”, ce ne putem aștepta de la albumul de debut care urmează să vină?

Albumul în sine are o estetică progresivă, dar cu contururi grele. La nivel liric, am explorat câteva mituri grecești așa cum am menționat mai devreme, în contrast cu nivelul muzical, unde am băut puțin din diverse lucruri pe care le-am auzit cu toții, cu accent mai mult pe metalul progresiv, dar cu un ton mai direct. Titlul în sine, „Dissonance”, ne amintește de contrastul dintre „vechi” și „nou”, care coexistă într-o perfectă disonanță: contextul mitologic grec antic, reprezentat muzical cu contururi ale muzicii moderne.

Subversive is born from the need for creation between Miguel Mateus and Miguel Branco, creating the embryo of the themes for an album.
After recording the bulk of the songs, they invited David Pais to join in the creation of vocal lines and lyrics and after that Xinês joined in the percussive wing.
The result of this work, inspired by several philosophical strands and currents of thought, is given the name “Dissonance”.
The final result was then mixed and mastered by Daniel Cardoso (Ultrasound Studios), and the launch is scheduled for the summer of 2020.
The live debut of this new project is already scheduled for the 7th of June, in the already celebrated Comendatio Music Fest, in Paço da Comenda (Tomar).

INTERVIEW:

• Is the theme of “Alethea” present in the rest of the album or is this a concept exclusive to this single?
  • This theme is part of a line of thought that runs through the entire album, in which we were inspired by some Greek myths and recreated them as characters in a metaphorical way, in a transposition to the present day. In this particular case, “Alethea” is the representation of truth and reality as we know it, simultaneously. As human beings, we have the gift of rationality and thought, which can lead us to both the good and the worst of evils. As a self-conscious species, we seek justifications for our reality in all possible ways, whether through theology, science, spiritualism and other currents of thought. Throughout the album we explored the characteristics of Greek myths and gods not only in a metaphorical but also in an almost analytical way, with the aim of making us think while we can – or cannot – identify with some of these characters.
• Musically, and based on what we’ve heard from “Alethea”, what can we expect from the debut album that is yet to come?
  • The album itself has a progressive aesthetic, but with heavy contours. At the lyrical level, we explored some Greek myths as we mentioned earlier in contrast to the musical level, where we drank a little of various things that we all heard, with a focus more on progressive metal, but with a more direct tone. The title itself, “Dissonance”, reminds us of the contrast between “old” and “new”, which coexist in perfect dissonance: the ancient Greek mythological context, represented musically with outlines of modern music.
